dc.description.abstractThe general study of the early Bronze Age monuments in the Araz Rivervalley has scientific importance for periodization of the settlements in Kur-Araz culture of the Caucasus. In general, thechronological history of the South Caucasus in the Early Bronze Age has been the subject of many researchers, but a definite conclusion on this issue has not been determined yet. There are existed different theories rejecting each other on the initial settlements and theethnic origin of Kur-Araz culture. The lastest investigations give us opportunity to concern today’s territory of Azerbaijan and also the areasof Araz River valley asthe centre establishment of this culture. Unfortunately, as to the ethnic origin of the ancient tribes of the Kur-Araz culture, a group of researchersaccording to the frame of national interests and the assumptionstated that thecreators of this culture originated from the Indo-European or Caucasian Iber tribes. However, according tothe obtainedanthropological andlinguisticfactsit should be noted thatthe Caucasionprototurk tribes also played a rolein the formation of the culture of South Caucasusand spreading of this culture to the other regionsin Early Bronze Age.en
