Kərpiclitəpə orta əsr yaşayış yerinin zoomorf təsvirli keramikası

Abstract

Karpijlitapa can be included among the important medieval monuments that have been studied in Azerbaijan so far. This monument is located 1 km from the south-eastern part of the Borsunlu village of Goranboy district, and is a castle estate belonging to the Seljuk period. Among the artifacts discovered as a result of archeological excavations, at the site in 2017-2018, ceramic evidence is prominent. Artifacts with zoomorphic images have a special place in the ceramics of Karpijlitapa. The samples of bowls with zoomorphic images obtained from Karpijlitapa fully meet the artistic-aesthetic and stylistic characteristics of the Middle Ages. It creates a complete impression of arrangement and composition. Zoomorphic images consist birds, deer, goats, dogs, horses, fish and rabbits. These images are engraved on materials using different styles and techniques. Among these methods known to us are drawing, attaching, stamp, paint, etc. methods. In most cases, these images are depicted as calm, of in motion and in some cases, animated, surrounded by floral ornaments. The zoomorphic images on various glazed or unglazed vessels obtained from the Karpijlitapa monument are very perfect in terms of artistic aesthetics.
