Title: Regionalization of Sheep Breeds Reared in the Republic and Impact of Melatonin and Progesterone Hormones on the Mating Campaign
Authors: Rustamova, Siala; Hasanov, Mirzammad; Zulfugarly, Yusif
Abstract: The paper studied the ensuring of innovative development in the preparation of
reproduction and feeding strategies within the “Sustainable development of the
sheep breeding and the creation of a value chain for food production” project in the
farms of the republic, mating campaigns among sheep breeds and their adaptation
peculiarities. In addition, a month before the introduction of rams into the flock,
melatonin and progesterone hormones had been added to the barley and corn bulgur
gruel in the form of a powder and were given to ewes, and the percentage of estrus
and lambing was studied.
At the same time, the specific features of the Balbas sheep breeds, the percentage of
lambing among ewes fed with different feed ratios, and the live weight of the
newborn twin lambs in groups were also analyzed.

Trials for Synthesis of Bact Eriocins from the Bacteria Genus Bacillus

Title: Trials for Synthesis of Bact Eriocins from the Bacteria Genus Bacillus
Authors: Taghiyeva, Safada; Gahramanova, F. K
Abstract: In the presented article, experiments for determination of antibacterial properties of
the strains Bacillus Cereus ATCC 14579 and Bacillus Subtilis ATCC 6633 and,
therefore, their ability to secrete bacteriocins, was subscribed. There are many trials
performed for choosing the most affordable, the least time-consumable and the most
appropriate method for obtaining bacteriocins from those strains. Possibility of
adaptation, the synthesis way to conditions of a factory production was analysed.
During that, research productivities of processes such as filtration, pasteurisation,
and scrolling in a centrifuge of the bacterial suspensions were comprised. Usage of
supernatant, obtained after long-lasting centrifugation of the bacterial suspensions,
prepared after 72 incubation of the bacteria was received as most suitable for
obtaining of the biologically active metabolites. Additionally, during the
experiments, incidentally, was discovered, that both Bacillus bacteria strains from
fresh 24 hours culture and old 72 hours culture isolates differ in morphology signs.
This may, generally, contributes to the emergence of a new approach to the study of
the morphology of other “young” and “old” bacteria.

Morphometric, Genetic and Competitive Study of the Grey Mountain Honeybee Populations (Apis mellifera caucasia) in Azerbaijan

Title: Morphometric, Genetic and Competitive Study of the Grey Mountain Honeybee Populations (Apis mellifera caucasia) in Azerbaijan
Authors: Omarov, Asaf; Ojaghi, Javid; Kandemir, Irfan
Abstract: We conducted a study on the mitochondrial DNA genetic diversity of honeybees
from Caucasian Bee samples by morphometric analysis and molecular analyses of
three regions of mitochondrial DNA (CytB, COI, and COI-COI intergenic regions).
In morphometric study by principal component analysis 32 colonies were grouped
in big cluster. ANOVA analyses showed significantly different among 4 groups of
honeybees for most studied traits characters. Total of 488 bases in COI-COII region,
981 bases in COI region and 425 bases were obtained after trimming in partial CYT
B region. This investigation showed that variation mtDNA regions can be used for
the characterization of Azerbaijan honeybees.

The Influence of Thyroid State on Biochemical Markers of Bone Metabolism

Title: The Influence of Thyroid State on Biochemical Markers of Bone Metabolism
Authors: Mammadkhanova, Farida; Azizova, Gulnara
Abstract: Thyroid hormones are essential for normal development and function of human
skeleton. Both excess as well as deficiency of thyroid hormones lead to disturbance
of bone metabolism. Consequently, the disorder of bone formation and bone
resorption phases can cause loss of bone mass and fractures. The aim of this study is
to investigate better markers of bone metabolism pathologies during thyroid
disfunction.
