dc.description.abstractThe thesis deals with the issue of the study of English as a Lingua Franca in higher education of Azerbaijan. The integrative role of English as Lingua Franca and its implication constitute the basis of the study in this field. Originally Lingua Franca was the name of a specific language based on French vocabulary that originated in the middle ages for Arab and Turkish talks merchants with Europeans. Leading position among modern many languages that do this function today certainly belongs to English. "Historical past" label of Lingua Franca, used to denote special language form, can not be considered fully repressed its modern representation. The research methodology includes the methods of survey and questionnaire in the study of English as a Lingua Franca in higher education of Azerbaijan, as well as description, comparison; experimental material was obtained by the method of continuous sampling of the sources from Internet and libraries using a cognitive approach.en_US
