Abstract: This thesis investigates the basic Romantic trends and writers dominating in British literature during the second half of XVIII and the beginning of XIX centuries, as well as examines their impact on the creativity of two great Romantic poets, Percy Bysshe Shelley and John Keats. The plot analysis of Shelley’s and Keats’s poems generally concentrates on revelation of social and moral problems, and emphasizes the importance of beauty and art.
